Countdown until the big day
Newtown Santa run says fairwell in 2009. We were the first UK Santa Run to take place and the first ever World Record holder! We are planning some great things for the day so apply today (don't forget to include your phone number!)
We are trying to make the 2009 extra special as it will be our final one. We need 8500 Santa's to go out with a bang this year so text the word "santa run" to the number below to keep up to date with all that's happening with the run, charities and Newtown events. Anyone can apply and we welcome people from all over the world! Be a part of a World Record next year in the beautiful countryside of Newtown in 2009
The 2008 event got off to a flying start, check in was a breeze this year with an average of 1 person processed per second!
It was a little crisp on the morning but the rain stayed away thanks to celebrity Derek Brockway, our very own BBC Wales weather man.
A big thank you goes to EOM Electrical in Newtown and Newtown football club and to Chris Tomley for supplying all the radios. Without all of you, we wouldn't have been able to stage any of the events.
We're going out with a bang this year and we want the whole world to take part! Australians, Americans, Canadians and more have made it around the course, why not represent your country in the worlds biggest collection of Santa runners.
